Role and Responsibilities

General Accounting , Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

  • Making sure that all company-related legal accounting data are in line with the present legislation, keeping the data in an orderly, timely and accurate manner, with appropriate application of Turkish accounting and tax requirements.
  • Preparing the accounting plan of the company in line with the uniform chart of accounts, ensuring efficient use of ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle, and carrying out the necessary updates when needed.
  • Making sure that the accounting documents are entered into the system timely, controlled and filed orderly.
  • Managing the accounting team and ensuring necessary resources are allocated to tasks in line with priorities, including project and construction accounting requirements.

Tax

  • Accomplishing the legal liabilities related to tax authorities and other financial entities timely and accurately, including corporate tax reporting, Turkish Tax Procedure Law (VUK) requirements and investment incentive processes.
  • Acting as a single point of contact for tax matters with auditors and coordinating relevant matters with Corporate Legal and external advisors when required.

Reporting

  • Ensuring the payments are executed on a timely basis to all vendors, legal entities and/or related parties.
  • Making sure that the petit cash movements are followed up timely without any delays, whether the data are kept accurately and completing the daily reconciliation.
  • Completing reconciliations between bank accounts and accounting data, including foreign currency and intercompany reconciliations, and maintaining effective communication with banks.
  • Supporting group reporting deadlines and completing monthly reporting accurately and on time, including foreign currency reporting and requirements of a global organization.
  • Liquidity planning and management of disbursement documentation, including project finance payments and banking relationships.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  •  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; CPA/SMMM qualification preferred.
  •  Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting, tax, and financial reporting, preferably within the energy, infrastructure, or construction sectors.
  • Knowledge of Turkish tax regulations, including VUK and corporate tax requirements.
  •   Hands-on experience with SAP/Oracle  ERP systems, including implementation, optimization, and process improvement projects.
  •   Knowledge of investment incentive (government incentive/teşvik) programs, including application, compliance monitoring, and reporting requirements.
  •   Proven experience in project accounting, construction accounting, and accounting for long-term contracts, including familiarity with percentage-of-completion and "yıllara sari inşaat işleri" regulations.
  •   Solid understanding of foreign currency accounting and reporting, including Turkish statutory accounting (VUK) requirements and IFRS reporting implications.
  •   Previous experience within an energy company, preferably involving large-scale generation, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects would be an asset.
  •  Experience working in a multinational/global organization, including group reporting, intercompany processes, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
  •  Strong experience in corporate tax compliance and reporting, including preparation and review of corporate income tax calculations, deferred tax accounting, and tax forecasting.
  •  Extensive experience with intercompany reconciliations, group reporting packages, and related-party transactions in an international environment.
  •  Familiarity with Turkish corporate legal processes, including company incorporations, capital increases, general assemblies, dividend distributions, board/shareholder resolutions, and statutory filing requirements.
  •  Demonstrated ability to coordinate legal and corporate matters with in-house and external legal counsel.
  •  Experience developing and implementing accounting, finance, tax, and internal control policies and procedures.
  •  Working knowledge of project finance structures, including debt facilities, lender reporting, drawdowns, debt service payments, banking operations, and relationship management with local and international banks.
  •  Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, demanding, and evolving organization.
  •  Fluency in English spoken and written, with experience working in a global organization

 

Experience with corporate processes such as General Assembly matters, profit distribution, company establishment and policy development would be preferred.
