Reporting To: Shift Supervisor / Shift Charge Engineer

Job Summary

Monitor and control Unit/Plant operation parameters and coordinate with other Operators regarding all activities affecting operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules and regulations; be familiar with fire equipment in the area.
• Understand plant P&IDs, SOPs, work instructions, operation/control logics, emergency procedures, and related documents.
• Monitor unit parameters and record periodic readings; summarize shift activities in the logbook.
• Follow instructions from Shift Charge Engineer and Supervisor; coordinate with other Operators.
• Respond quickly during abnormal operating conditions.
• Coordinate Lock Out & Tag Out during equipment isolation; normalize equipment post-maintenance as instructed.
• Inspect unit and auxiliaries to ensure parameters are within limits; report abnormalities.
• Perform protection tests under supervision; maintain records; conduct equipment changeovers as scheduled.
• Raise work requests or defect notes; follow up on rectifications.
• Assist in training and familiarization of new operators.
• Report near misses and implement risk controls.
• Report deviations in QHSE Management System.
• Ensure proper waste disposal.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Educational Qualification

• Diploma in Engineering is mandatory
• Bachelor of Engineering is preferred

Experience

• Minimum 5 years in the same position

Required Skills

• Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental Management principles
• Knowledge of waste identification, classification, and disposal
• Understanding of emission monitoring
• Awareness of chemical health and environmental impacts
• Familiarity with firefighting equipment
• Knowledge of PPE and safety equipment
• Basic first aid knowledge
• Strong understanding of Power/Water plant operations
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Analytical thinking
• Hazard risk assessment capability
• Aspect-impact assessment knowledge
• Basic computer skills

Certifications / Training (Preferred)

ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 awareness or working knowledge
