Job Purpose

To ensure the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of robotic systems used within the solar PV plant, particularly robotic panel-cleaning systems. The role is responsible for electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement of robotic equipment and its associated electrical and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

-  Operate, monitor, inspect, and maintain robotic systems across the solar PV plant.
-   Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with approved maintenance plans.
 
- Diagnose and rectify electrical and control-related faults involving motors, drives, sensors, batteries, charging systems, communication networks, PLCs, and control panels.
Monitor robotic system performance, availability, alarms, and operational data to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- Troubleshoot communication failures between robots, control stations, SCADA systems, and other monitoring platforms.
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with robotics vendors, OEMs, contractors, and internal O&M teams for technical support, repairs, upgrades, and warranty claims.
- Review electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, method statements, and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, breakdowns, maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and system performance.
- Ensure the availability of critical spare parts and support inventory planning for robotic equipment.
- Participate in testing, commissioning, software or firmware upgrades, and modification of robotic systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, cleaning efficiency, energy consumption, and maintenance cost.
- Ensure all activities comply with company HSE requirements, electrical safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and LOTO requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and other relevant team members.
- Support emergency maintenance and troubleshooting activities when required.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional certification or Saudi Council of Engineers registration is preferred.

Experience

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, industrial automation, robotics, or control systems.
- Experience in solar PV plants or robotic panel-cleaning systems is highly preferred.
- Practical experience with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, motors, batteries, charging systems, SCADA, and industrial communication networks.
- Experience in troubleshooting automated or remotely controlled equipment.
- Previous experience coordinating with OEMs and technical service providers is preferred.
