Field Operator

Job Purpose: Monitor the Operation parameters of the system at local and coordinate with the CCR Operator in regard to all related activities that affect operation. Responsible for safe start-up/shut down of the plant as per the Standard Operating Procedures. Quick response during emergency operation of the plant. 

Key Accountabilities:

Field Operations

• Comply with safety rules and regulations. Be familiar with the fire equipment in his area. Follow the instructions of the Shift Supervisor/Shift In-Charge and CCR Operator.
• Familiar with plant P&IDs, SOPs, Work instructions, basic control logics as well as the emergency operation procedures and any other related documents.
• Monitor all parameters at local and enter periodic readings on log sheets. Summarize all activities/events that took place during his shift in the log book.
• Inspect the area and auxiliaries during the shift to make sure that all equipment parameters are within limits. Report abnormalities to the CCR Operator/ Shift Supervisor/Shift In Charge.
• Perform equipment change over according to pre-set schedules. Raise work requests or defect notes for faulty equipment.
• Coordinate with CCR Operator/Shift Supervisor/Shift In-Charge for isolating and lining up the equipment and system before and after maintenance. Maintain a tidy housekeeping in the work area and ensure clean up after maintenance work.
• Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions
• Assist in the training and familiarization of new operators.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
• Monitor the environmental regulatory parameters on a regular basis and report any deviations to Shift Supervisor / Engineer or CCR Operator for corrective action

Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner.

COMMUNICATION & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal:

• Needs to work closely with Shift Engineer/ Supervisor, CCR Operators

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Technical Diploma holder in Engineering.

Minimum Experience:

• 1 -3 years’ experience in Field operations in the Power / Water desalination units

Skills:

• Knowledge of relevant plant equipment and field operations
• Extensive experience as local operator in any of the following type conventional, combined cycle, Water Desalination Plants like RO, MSF, MED etc. and Renewable Energy type Solar, Wind Mills etc. Plants.
• Awareness of HSE & quality standards
• Knowledge of all relevant plant processes and equipment
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge of identification, classification and disposal of waste.
• Knowledge of firefighting equipment’s.
• Teamwork and effective collaboration skills Embraces Innovation

• Should be well conversed with Power / Water / Solar plant operational activities.
