2. JOB PURPOSE:
|
|
To perform day-to-day inspections and monitoring of mechanical works at ACWA Power project sites in Uzbekistan, ensuring all activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards. The Mechanical Inspector supports the QA/QC team by identifying non-conformities, verifying contractor work, and contributing to the overall mechanical quality of construction and installation.

3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
|
- Inspection of Mechanical Works: Conduct regular inspections of mechanical installations such as piping systems, tanks, HVAC, pumps, valves, and rotating/static equipment.
- Compliance Verification: Ensure work is executed according to project specifications, applicable codes (e.g., ASME, API), and quality requirements.
- Welding and Material Inspection: Inspect welding activities, monitor preheating/post-weld processes, and verify material traceability.
- Daily Site Monitoring: Monitor site activities to ensure method statements and approved procedures are being followed.
- Documentation: Prepare inspection reports, maintain records of observations, and verify checklists and ITPs.
- Punch List Management: Identify and log deficiencies; track closure of mechanical punch points before handover.
- Support QA/QC Engineers: Assist the mechanical QA/QC team in inspections, testing, and verification of completion activities.
- HSE Compliance: Observe and report unsafe practices during mechanical works and ensure adherence to site safety requirements.

4. REPORTING AND DOCUMENT FLOW
|
|
Reports to: Construction Manager-QA/QC Manager
Interfaces with:
- Mechanical Construction and Supervision Teams
- EPC Contractors and Subcontractors
- Commissioning, QA/QC, and HSSE Teams
Document Flow:
- Receives: IFC drawings, inspection test plans (ITPs), method statements, and material delivery documents
- Delivers: Inspection reports, NCRs, punch lists, material verification checklists, and daily activity logs

5. GENERAL JOB DUTIES
|
- Conduct detailed inspections of mechanical installations including supports, alignments, tolerances, and material conditions.
- Verify that welding joints, piping routes, HVAC units, pumps, tanks, and mechanical systems conform to approved drawings and specifications.
- Witness pressure tests, valve testing, and equipment alignments when required.
- Check availability and use of calibrated tools and approved consumables.
- Maintain updated records of all inspections and test results, ensuring traceability.
- Coordinate with contractor QC teams to ensure timely inspections and compliance with the approved inspection schedule.
- Report non-conformities or deviations from approved procedures to the QA/QC Mechanical Engineer.
- Support the preparation and closure of mechanical punch lists before mechanical completion and handover.
- Assist in verifying that all materials and equipment used on-site have proper documentation and certification.
- Monitor the proper preservation of mechanical equipment prior to commissioning.

8. RIGHTS:

- To request and receive necessary materials and documents related to the issues of its activity.
- Interact with other services of the enterprise on production and other issues included in his functional duties.
- To offer for consideration of the head proposals for improvement of work related to the duties provided for in this job description
- To report to the manager about all identified violations and shortcomings in connection with the work performed.
- To familiarize himself with the documents defining his rights and responsibilities for his position;
- To refuse to fulfill orders, instructions, assignments and tasks contradicting the legislation of RUz, having justified his refusal to the Head of the Department in writing;
- To exercise other rights stipulated by the legislation of RUz, Rules and Policy of the Company, labor and collective agreements, acts of the employer.

9. ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The employee is responsible:
- For improper and untimely performance or non-performance of his/her job duties stipulated by this job description - within the limits defined by the labor legislation of RUz.
- For offenses committed in the course of his activity - within the limits defined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of RUz.
- For causing material damage - within the limits defined by the current labor and civil legislation of RUz.
- For non-compliance with the current instructions, orders and instructions on preservation of commercial secrets and confidential information.
- For failure to comply with internal regulations, safety and fire safety rules.
- For failure to inform the Head about non-standard working conditions and non-compliance with the quality of products (in relation to the activities of the division, department).
- In case of transfer to another job or dismissal from the position, he/she is responsible for proper and timely handing over the files to the person assuming the present position, and in case of absence of such a person, to the person replacing him/her or directly to his/her supervisor.
- For the fulfillment of individual task plans for the year according to the employee performance appraisal system. The goals and tasks specified in this plan are binding. In case of non-fulfillment, improper fulfillment of individual plans and tasks for the year according to the employee’s labor activity assessment system, the employee may be brought to disciplinary responsibility.
- For conscientious performance of his/her labor duties, observance of labor discipline, timely and accurate execution of the employer’s lawful orders, observance of technological discipline, requirements for labor protection, occupational health and safety and industrial sanitation, careful attitude to the employer’s property.

10. REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
|
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical field
- Certification in mechanical inspection (CSWIP, API, or similar) preferred
Minimum Experience:
- 4–6 years of experience in mechanical inspection roles in construction or energy projects
- Familiarity with piping systems, mechanical equipment, and welding activities

11. REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
|
- Working knowledge of ASME, API, and relevant international mechanical standards
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications
- Strong observational and documentation skills
- Basic understanding of inspection tools, NDT processes, and pressure testing
- Good verbal and written communication in English; Uzbek or Russian is a plus
- High commitment to safety and quality in a site-based role
- Driving License
