Job Description:
As a  Power Trader, you will be instrumental in the execution and operational management of the company's power portfolio. You will serve as the primary liaison for third-party service providers and provide critical analytical support to the Power Trading Manager. This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional eager to develop expertise in power market operations and commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Third-Party Provider & Commercial Management:
    • Manage day-to-day trading activities and communication with third-party market intelligence suppliers, power generation project operators, and power market service providers.
    • Track and verify settlement data, invoices, and performance metrics for all external trading partners.
    • Assist in negotiating commercial terms and service agreements with external partners under the guidance of the Power Trading Manager.
  • Trading Operations & Data Reporting:
    • Collect, validate, and organize power market data (MLT and spot prices, load forecasts, generation schedules) from exchange platforms and internal systems.
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly trading performance reports, including P&L summaries, position tracking, and volume analysis.
    • Maintain accurate records of all trade confirmations and settlements.
    • Manage declaration materials for power station trading centers, including market access applications, UKEY processing and other administrative procedures. 
  • Trading Performance Analysis & Enhancement:
    • Conduct post-trade analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of executed strategies against market benchmarks.
    • Identify operational inefficiencies in the trading workflow and propose process improvements.
  • Strategy Research & Monitoring:
    • Track regional policy updates and conduct in-depth research on power market rules and mechanisms across provinces. 
    • Monitor real-time market conditions, congestion signals, and balancing market alerts.
    • Support the Power Trading Manager in back-testing algorithmic strategies and/or arbitrage execution.

Qualifications & Profile:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in power trading, dispatch operations, or energy market analysis.
  • Education: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Power Engineering, Energy Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Foundational knowledge of China's power market structure (Medium-to-Long Term, Spot, Capacity and Ancillary Services).
    • Hands-on experience with at least one provincial or inter-provincial trading platform.
    • Strong proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Python or SQL.
    • Knowhow in AI assisted coding and workflow management.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for external vendor liaison.
    • High attention to detail and ability to meet strict market deadlines.
    • Ability to work under pressure with time management skills to handle urgent requests
