Job Description – Store Keeper                                                 Location: QIPP

Reporting To: Store Supervisor

 

Job Summary
The Store Keeper is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory of materials and equipment. The role includes handling shipping and receiving activities, maintaining stock records, and supporting day‑to‑day store operations. Additional tasks may be assigned as required.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Maintain inventory for plant supplies, including ordering, receiving, and allocation.
  2. Prepare requisitions, purchase orders, reports, and other related documents.
  3. Receive and inspect all incoming materials and match them with purchase orders; document and track any damages or discrepancies.
  4. Post daily incoming and outgoing stock entries.
  5. Report canceled or damaged items to the purchase department.
  6. Handle and document storage and transportation of hazardous materials.
  7. Identify, segregate, and preserve stored materials properly.
  8. Keep the warehouse and storage areas neat and organized.
  9. Segregate waste for proper disposal.
  10. Inform relevant personnel about material arrivals and arrange for inspection.
  11. Respond to queries regarding receipts, deliveries, repairs, warranties, and surplus items.
  12. Arrange for the return of non‑conforming materials.
  13. Issue materials as per requirements and maintain accurate records.
  14. Perform any other duties assigned.

Job Specifications

Education

  • Desired: Diploma in a related field
  • Preferred: Degree

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum: 3 years in similar storekeeping functions
  • Preferable: 6 years

Required Skills

  1. Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental Management systems.
  2. Knowledge of environmental and health impacts of chemicals stored in the warehouse.
  3. Knowledge of identification, handling, storing, and disposal of wastes and expired chemicals.
  4. Ability to perform basic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  5. Ability to type at 35 words per minute.
  6. Ability to operate a computer and related software.
  7. Good communication skills in English.
  8. Hazard risk assessment capabilities.
  9. Aspect and impact assessment knowledge.

Preferred Certifications / Training

  1. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 awareness or working knowledge.
  2. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
