1.  Job Details

2.  Job Purpose

To carry out maintenance, installation, overhauling and modification activities on the plant's electrical machinery and equipment in accordance with standard maintenance procedures, HSE guidelines and quality standards, to attain effective functionality and reliability.

3.  Key Accountabilities

3.1  Electrical Maintenance

• Carry out required daily electrical maintenance work and routine preventive electrical maintenance work according to the set schedule and ACWA NOMAC procedures to facilitate continuous operations.
• Monitor the physical condition of all equipment in the assigned plant and report non-conformances to the Electrical Engineer / Electrical Supervisor to facilitate effective maintenance of all ACWA NOMAC facilities as per set Quality / HSE standards.
• Respond to electrical failures and implement corrective actions in adherence with procedures and guidelines to reduce downtime and maximise equipment functionality.
• Troubleshoot using the necessary tools, including diagnosing, repairing and testing circuit or wiring faults and locating faults in cables, to validate that all connection points and cables are capable of withstanding capacity voltages.
• Diagnose causes of electrical malfunction or failure of operational equipment such as transformers, motors, relays, switches, and control and monitoring devices, and take corrective measures in collaboration with the Electrical Engineer / Electrical Supervisor.
• Read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams and similar documentation, and apply this knowledge to carry out maintenance and troubleshooting tasks in the assigned area.
• Align, adjust and calibrate equipment according to specifications, and maintain records of repairs, calibrations and tests.
• Develop expertise in at least one of the following core fields to become a BESS & HV system subject matter expert:
  • Inverters, SCB, Strings
  • BESS (Battery Energy Storage System)
  • LV / HV apparatus
  • SCADA
  • Transformers
  • AIS up to 220 kV

3.2  Inventory

• Check the necessary stock levels of spare parts to support effective inventory control.

3.3  Documentation

• Update the maintenance logbook and record details of work carried out, including defaults, problems, findings and equipment conditions, to ensure timely availability of information and organised referencing.

3.4  Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the organisation's standards.
• Complete Mishkaty TQP L4 with JPM for all site-specific contents of Uzbek PV Plants.

3.5  Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures

• Adhere to all relevant organisational and departmental policies, processes, standard maintenance procedures and instructions, so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner.

3.6  Health, Safety, Security & Environment

• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls, so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.

3.7  Related Assignments

• Perform any other duties which the line manager may require to be carried out.

4.  Communication & Working Relationships

Internal

• Work closely with the Electrical Supervisor, Engineers and Supervisors in the Maintenance section and the Operations team.

External

• Work with relevant contractors and vendors.

5.  Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical certificate / Associate's Diploma in Electrical Maintenance.

Minimum Experience

• 2–5 years' experience in electrical maintenance as a technician / supervisor in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and installations in a plant environment.
• Good spoken and written English communication skills are a must.

Skills

• Knowledge of testing and commissioning of BESS, HV and MV systems.
• Strong PV and BESS technology exposure; MV and HV experience preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of BESS packages and HV & MV systems; capable of scheduling and executing PM plans and able to lead a team of 4–6 for HV/MV maintenance, executing PM tasks as per schedule.
• In-depth knowledge of substation equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays and control systems; 220 kV system experience most preferable.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software used for monitoring and optimising PV & BESS plant performance.
• Knowledge of maintenance management methods, predictive inspection tools and CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System); good knowledge of the SAP template desirable.
• Experience of having conducted at least one outage for critical electrical equipment.
• Teamwork and effective collaboration skills.
• Basic understanding of PV and BESS SCADA systems and communication protocols.
• Experience with AIS systems in Uzbekistan is preferable.
